How Bible Stories Work: Interpreting Biblical Narratives

Everyone loves a good story–and the Bible is full of them. Through stories about imperfect people, God shows how he works across the full spectrum of human experience. That means Bible stories matter for our lives. But how should we understand and apply them? Where am I in each story? For example, should I relate to David or Goliath? Or the people of Israel huddling in their tents?

This course will help you grow in competence and confidence as you study Bible stories and apply them to life–from both the Old and New Testaments. You will learn principles of interpretation that help us to understand what a Bible story originally meant, how it fits in the whole story of the Bible, and what implications it has for our lives today.

We will meet in person on Sun mornings (11:00 AM - 12:15 PM) from Feb 1 - March 15. Childcare will be provided, but you must register by Jan 18 to guarantee the availability of childcare providers.

Please drop us an email if you have any questions.
